Norwich City vs Queens Park Rangers
2017/18 EFL Championship
Date: Wednesday, 16th August 2017
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Carrow Road.
Norwich City will be desperate to bounce back after weekend’s home defeat to Sunderland.
The Canaries will, however, have a very tough task to grab the first win of the season on Wednesday as they host the in-form Queens Park Rangers side at their Carrow Road.
It seems that the host are going to have yet another dismal run in the second tier of the English football as they failed to reach the playoffs spots in the last term of Championship.
The team tried to copy Huddersfield Town by hiring a German coach Daniel Farke for the new campaign, but he is not off to the best possible start with no more than a single point from matches with Fulham and Sunderland.
The main issues pop out at the back since the Canaries have been pretty easy to break down having conceded six goals in last three matches in all competitions.
Queens Park Rangers
QPR are nowhere near Norwich’s ambitions, but they are off to a much stronger kick off to the new season as they took four points from outings against the likes of Reading and Sheffield Wednesday, who both featured promotional playoffs last year.
Ian Holloway can be especially proud of his team’s defensive line which allowed no more than a single goal in last three matches, but it will be on a heavy challenge this Wednesday against one of the most potential attacking sides in the competition.
Norwich City vs QPR: Head to head
The Canaries have been super impressive in head to head meetings with the Hoops at Carrow Road where they picked up 17 wins in 29 matches against QPR.
This includes a demolishing 4-0 victory from early May this year when Hoolahan, Pritchard and Josh Murphy bagged goals for the team then led by Alan Irvine.
Norwich City vs QPR: Prediction
The value is with the visiting side who are 19/20 to avoid a defeat against an unconvincing Norwich City.
Even though the Canaries fancy attacking-minded play, we expect the Hoops to sit tight at the back and keep thing s quiet in front of Smithies’ goal which adds on the value of the 11/10 odds offered on the Under 2.5 goals bet.
