Nimes vs Nice
France Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 10th November 2018
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade des Costieres (Nimes)
Finally after a terrible six weeks Nimes awoke again last weekend and we saw what made the club so interesting to watch at the beginning of the season. They won and did so in style when they beat Dijon away from home 4-0. It was a fixture where we were expecting goals but did not think that Nimes would be getting all of them.
That result moved the club up to 13th place and ended a barren spell and now at home they will be looking to continue that form. They have not lost at home since the beginning of September which is encouraging, but they have drawn their last 3 games in a row.
Nice have 17 points and Nimes would join them on the same points if they were to lose this game. Nice are enjoying back to back wins coming into this game with wins over Amiens and Bordeaux. They have only conceded 2 goals in the whole of October as coach Patrick Vieira has worked on defence.
Away from home Nice has the 3rd best record in the league where they have lost just 1 game in their past five meetings. Along with PSG and Montpellier they have conceded the least amount of goals on the road with 4.
Nimes vs Nice: Head to Head
The teams have only remarkably met once in 2005. The game was a Coupe de France match. Nimes were at home and won 4-0.
Nimes vs Nice: Prediction
We must forget history between the two sides as there is none. What we will pay respect too is how well Nice have been playing not just away from home but keeping clean sheets and creating a mean defence in recent games.
Nimes have goals in them but only when they come up against a side willing to attack and create space. Nice won’t do that and that is why we will be backing Nice to get something from this game and frustrate the home side.
