Nigeria vs Uganda
International Friendlies
Date: Tuesday, 20 November 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK
Venue: Stephen Keshi Stadium (Asaba).

Two in-form African national teams are going to face each other in the friendly match on Tuesday afternoon.

Nigeria are on a very good track of securing their place in the African Cup of Nations draw as they are sitting on the top spot in their group being three points ahead of Libya. In the final round, they have an easy task to beat Seychelles at home ground, and the visitors are the weakest team in the competition. Ahmed Musa and the lads missed the chance to win just once in the last four matches and they’ve been very efficient during that period.

Uganda have already booked their place for the final tournament as they have done almost a perfect job in the campaign. They’ve allowed just one point to their rivals in the group and booked four victories. Sebastien Desabre’s side has a rock solid defence as they managed to keep the clean sheet in all five matches. The visitors are in a streak of three straight wins and they’ve been pretty confident so far. However, this is going to be their toughest challenge in the past twelve months.

Nigeria vs Uganda: Head-to-head

Interestingly, these two sides faced each other just two times in their history. And in both occasions, Uganda were better side. Their first encounter took place back in 1978 when Uganda celebrated a 2-1 victory at African Cup of Nations, while three years ago, they managed to book a narrow 1-0 win in a friendly match.

Nigeria vs Uganda: Prediction

A very interesting clash is ahead of us and both sides are going to search for a positive result in this one. However, Nigeria have a slight advantage as they are the hosts in this one and Uganda are putting much better performances when playing in front of the home crowd.

Both sides have been doing a very good job in the back lately and they should be able to keep up their focus in the defensive line. A very tight battle is going to be fought and the crowd shouldn’t be able to see more than two goals in this one.
