Nice vs Reims
France Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 11th August 2018
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade Allianz Riveria (Nice).
It’s true to think that Nice were a little underwhelming last season but they did find superb form and showed Ligue 1 just how consistent and good they can be and they will be looking to be strong this season. French legend Patrick Vieria is the coach this season and it will be very interesting to see how the ex Arsenal player fairs in the hot seat.
Nice have lost some quality this season as they sold Alessane Plea to Borussia Monchengladbach for just £20m. Plea was very good for the side last season. But the club has put its trust in the signing of defensive midfielder Danilo from Braga who cost the team £9m.
Reims are one of the most famous and historic clubs in France so it is always good to see them back in Ligue 1. They controlled Ligue 2 last season and won as champions. The objective will be to stay in the top flight this season.
Reims have decided to invest in South Korean player Hyun-jun Suk from Troyes and the 27 year old cost the club less than £3m. Veteran player Diego who played such a huge part in the club being promoted back to Ligue 1 has left on a free transfer and gone to the Middle East.
