Venue: Stade de Copet.

PSV led an inspiring campaign through the last season and fell short right at the end to Ajax’s incredible consistency and brilliance. Still, it was a sight to follow for Dutch fans, to see their football rising to a global level.

Leaving the other clubs in the dust, these two posted points on the board with a lead of almost 20. Eindhoven also waged wars against some of the best in Europe, such as Barcelona, Tottenham, Inter Milan, etc, as part of their Champions League duties.

This time around, they will be determined to take the league title back, and strong pre-season is a prerequisite for it.

Despite coming from the French League, which supposedly is the better one compared to the Eredivisie, the stature of the opponents puts Nice in a spot. OGC finished seventh in the table and would be aiming for at least 8-10 more points than their last attempt in the Ligue 1, which would present them a ticket to the Europa.

Nice vs PSV Eindhoven Prediction

PSV will be gearing up for the fresh challenge with Ajax for the Eredivisie title, and it’s supremely important that they begin on the right note. A good performance against a team from the top-five leagues would be a morale-booster.

The Dutch side registered the best defensive stats of all of the sides in contention in the top division, conceding just 26 goals during their campaign, while disregarding Ajax, everyone else failed to keep it below 40.

Scoring-wise too they had blasted away oppositions, and recorded a phenomenal 98 goals, while the next best was just 75. All through the league competition, they had lost just thrice, which was fewer than even the title-winners.

Their counterparts, on the other hand, could post just modest stats and had to be satisfied with a mid-table finish. From the 38 league fixtures, their return was just 30 goals.

As things stand, the team from the Netherlands should take the win.  But a clean sheet might be hoping too much. The reasons being – this being a friendly, and Nice’s inclusion in the superior Ligue 1. And finally, the venue being a neutral location, PSV might struggle to put forth the same dominance they have at home.
