Nice vs Monaco
French Ligue 1
Date: Friday, 24 May 2019
Kick-Off 20:05 UK / 21:05 CET
Venue: Allianz Riviera (Nice).

Monaco secured survival in the elite class of the French football with a massive 2-0 victory in a relegation six-pointer against direct rivals Amiens last weekend in principality.

Radamel Falcao and Aleksandr Golovin were on the scoreline in one of the most important matches of the season for Les Monegasques.

Leonardo Jardim’s men are now three points above Caen I 18th place (the one which leads to the relegation play-offs) and they beat their goal difference by six goals coming into the last round of the campaign.

Mathematically, Monaco can still drop down to 18th place but it is really hard to see such scenario coming.

Anyhow, Les Monegasques will certainly be looking to build on the mentioned win over Amiens and finish the horrendous season on a high with a result on Friday evening against Nice away at Allianz Riviera.

Nice vs Monaco: Head-to-head

Monaco have a positive head to head record as they lead the tie by four wins coming into the landmark 40th meeting with Les Aiglons.

Last two H2H matches saw teams sharing spoils (1-1 and 2-2).

Both teams scored in all of past three head to head games.

Nice vs Monaco: Prediction

It’s been a roller-coaster campaign for Nice so far in the season. They have really been inconsistent with their form throughout the entire season and the last couple of months were no exception.

Les Aiglons won one, lost two and drew three of past six league matches, a streak which saw them lose the 7th place to Nimes.

Patrick Vieira’s men fell 3-0 away at Saint-Etienne last weekend. The French manager and former Arsenal star has been linked to a couple of high-profile clubs (namely Olympique Lyon) and we can question his motivation to make the most out of this final round tie against Monaco.

On the other side, we have to say that Nice shipped only 14 goals in 18 home matches this season. They won six, drew two and lost just one of past nine matches at Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1.

The value is thus super strong with Nice to keep a clean sheet at 4.00 odds (obviously be careful with stakes). Under 2.5 goals is another decent call at 1.90 odds if we know that only one of last 14 games Nice played at home produced three or more goals.

Nice vs Monaco: Bet Tips

  • Under 2.5 goals FT @ 1.90 (9/10)
