Newcastle vs Swansea: Preview and Prediction

Newcastle vs Swansea English Premier League Match Preview and Prediction 16-April-2016

Newcastle vs Swansea Match Kick-Off Time 16-April-2016

Newcastle United are hopeful to snatch all three points when they host an excellent Swansea City at the St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies are yet to win a match since Rafa Benitez took charge and managed just a point from their last four matches. Their 3-1 defeat at Southampton last week pushed them further deep into the relegation zone and a defeat here could make things difficult for them as they have some tough fixtures at the tail end of the season.

Swansea have smartly moved away from the relegation zone and have 40 points at the moment and will be high on confidence after the 1-0 win against Chelsea last weekend. Currently 13th in the league table, The Swans will be looking to finish the season on a high.

Newcastle United Form Guide:

Newcastle have not won in their last 7 Premier League outings, with 6 of those ending in defeats. They last win came against West Brom on 6th February 2016, now they have played over two months of football without a win.

The Magpies are the worst away side in the league and lost 14 of their 17 games in the league so far, 2 more than the 20th placed Aston Villa. They have also lost all of their last 9 away matches in the league.

At home, Newcastle’s form is slightly better as they have won 2, draws 2 and lost 1 of their last 5 matches at St. James’ Park. This will be the second home match for Rafa in Newcastle colors and his first one was the Tyne Wear Derby against Sunderland, which finished in a 1-1 draw.

Swansea Form Guide:

Francesco Guidolin has overturned Swansea’s fortunes and they have lost just once in the last 6 Premier League matches, with 4 wins and a draw.

Away from home, the Swans have just 1 win from their last 5, with 1 win and 2 draws. They are without a win in their last 2 matches on the road, but have at least 2 goals in their last 3 away games.

There is more bad news for Rafa Benitez as Daryl Janmaat and Steven Taylor are likely to miss after failing to recover from the knocks they picked up against Southampton last week.

This is a do or die situation for Rafa Benitez and his boys and they must win here to keep their hopes of staying in the Premier League alive. And their form has been very poor and are expected to struggle against a Swansea side who are firing from all cylinders.

Swansea have an excellent record against Newcastle at the St James’ Park and are won in their last three visits. And judging by their good form in recent games, they are expected to extending their winning streak on Saturday evening.

Swansea to win is my pick for this match and I expect both teams to score and we will be seeing over 2.5 goals.
