New York RB vs Columbus
MLS
Date: Monday, 12 November 2018
Kick-Off at 00:30 UK / 01:30 CET
Venue: Red Bull Arena (Harrison).

Just a week after winning the Supporters Shield title, New York Red Bulls are facing play-offs elimination. They fell 1-0 away at MAPFRE Stadium in the first leg of their Conference semi-final tie against Columbus Crew and are desperate to annul the deficit when teams take on each other in the reverse fixture at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey on Sunday night.

Gregg Berhalter defeated his colleague at the opposite end in terms of strategy and game plan. He decided to leave his key man Federico Higuain on the bench after the Argentine playmaker bagged two goals in the Knockout Round against DC United. Crew won that tie on penalties, but their players had no time to rest before the first leg of the Conference semis. Higuain was introduced after the break and he instantly made an impact setting up Zardes’ lone goal of the game just after the hour-mark. Will Federico be in the starting line-up on Sunday at Red Bull Arena?

New York RB vs Columbus: Head-to-head

New York RB lead the head to head tie by a single win, but they’ve found Columbus Crew very hard to beat in the most recent set of H2H affairs.

The Crew won three and drew one of past four encounters against the Bulls.

Both teams were on target in three of past four head to head outings.

New York RB vs Columbus: Prediction

The Bulls still remain favourites to get back into the contest after losing the first leg. They have a super impressive record on the home patch (14 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss) in the regular season. They ended the regular campaign with a thread of five straight wins conceding just once in the process.

On the other hand, the Crew are winless in last seven games on the road. They lost three and drew one of past four away matches in the league. We thus have to back the Supporters Shield champions to pick up the victory at 1.66 here.
