New England Revolution vs. Columbus Crew
MLS Regular Season,
Date: Sunday, July 10, 2016
Kick-off: 0:30 UK Time
Venue: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough (Massachusetts).
New England Revolution and Columbus Crew are desperate for a win to get out of the bottom half of the MLS Eastern Conference table when the teams meet on Saturday evening.
New England suffered their third straight defeat after the 1-0 loss at home to New York City Wednesday. However, their MLS campaign this season has never really kicked off and managed just four wins till now. In the initial half of the season they managed to draw majority of their games, but some poor defending had cost them dearly in recent weeks. They had also lost two of their last three games and 8th in the Eastern Conference table with 19 points from 18 games.
Columbus Crew are a point behind New England and are 9th in the standings, but have two more games in hand. The Crew SC are winless in the last four after drawing 2 and losing 2. They had managed just one win from their last 8 and their league standing justify their poor form in the current season. Their away form is nothing to write about and are without a win so far in 8 games this season, 3 draws and 5 losses.
New England Revolution: Team News
New England will be without the Bobby Shuttleworth, after the goal keeper picked up a straight red card in the dying minutes of the 1-0 loss against New York City FC.
Charlie Davies, Darrius Barnes and Gershon Koffie are short of fitness and are likely to miss the weekend clash against Columbus Crew.
New England Revolution: Predicted Line-up (4-2-3-1)

Columbus Crew: Team News
Tyson Wahl remains out through suspension and the likes of Chad Barson, Conor Casey and Tony Tchani are major doubts for Saturday’s MLS fixture.

New England Revolution vs Columbus Crew: Predictions
These two sides are in a terrible run of form and each of these sides will be desperate to turn the tables with a win here. But Columbus Crew are yet to win an away game in MLS this season and tasted defeats in 5 of the 8 matches so far. While New England can be considered as a better team while playing in front of their home crowd.
Backing either of these teams to come out as clean winners involve high risk. A safer option is to go for a double chance in favour of New England considering the poor away for of Columbus Crew.
Also looking at each side’s defensive vulnerabilities in recent outings, I expect to see over 2.5 goals with both teams to score.
