Netherlands vs Germany Prediction & Match Preview

Netherlands vs Germany
EURO 2020 Qualification
Date: Sunday, 24 March 2019
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Johan Cruijff Arena (Amsterdam).

Netherlands and Germany take on each other in a mouth-watering second round clash of Group C EURO Qualification on Sunday evening at Johan Cruijff Arena. These two sides are massive favourites to take top two spots in the group and qualify for the EURO 2020.

Both teams have an imperative to perform well in this qualifying campaign. The hosts missed out on past two big events (EURO 2016 and World Cup 2018). They finally look to have gathered a high-profile squad which has strengths all over the field.

Oranje proved quality by topping their respective Nations League group ahead of past two World Cup winners France and Germany. They lost just one of past eight games including friendlies. It is an impressive run if we know the opposition came in the likes of Portugal, Slovakia, Italy, Peru, Belgium, Germany (twice) and France (twice). Can they keep it going here against highly-motivated Germans?

Netherlands vs Germany: Head-to-head

Overall, Germany have a positive head to head record with Oranje as they won 15, drew 16 and lost 11 of past 42 H2H ties.

However, Netherlands were better in the most recent head to head encounters in last year’s UEFA Nations League.

Oranje won 3-0 at home, while they held Die Mannschaft to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture on the German soil.

Netherlands vs Germany: Prediction

Germany are going through a very difficult period at the moment. Their title defense quest at the World Cup in Russia ended with a group stage exit, while the team continued in the same fashion claiming just two points in four Nations League matches in the inaugural edition of the competition.

Joachim Low made plenty of changes to the squad which featured the World Cup in Russia. Germans have huge problems with the lack of predators in the final third as Timo Werner looks to be their only true striker.

Netherlands shipped just three goals in past eight home outings in all competitions. The value is decent with Germany to score fewer than two goals in the game at the odds of 1.61.

Netherlands vs Germany: Bet Tips

  • Germany Under 1.5 Team Goals @ 1.61 (8/13)
  • Netherlands or Draw @ 1.40 (2/5).
