Chelsea Midfielder Nemanja Matic is on the brink of retiring from international football after the Serbian senior National team lost 4-1 to Czech Republic in a friendly game on Friday evening at Ostrava.
Serbia failed to qualify to Euro 2016 after finishing fourth in Group I with just four points. And Matic believes some team mates of the Serbian National team show lack of commitment and poor work rate.
“The attitude of some players is unacceptable, not just on the pitch but off it too, and it was obvious from the moment we got together on Monday.
“I told our coach Radovan Curcic; there is no point in me carrying on with the national team if things don’t change. He told the Serbian media.
Their lost to Euro 2016 means that Serbia have missed out on major international tournaments thrice in a row, which includes the Euro 2012 and Brazil World Cup 2014.
Matic will be back in action in the Premier League when Chelsea host Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, the 21st November 2015; in a match the Blues want to win at any cost.
