Watford left-back Nathan Ake says scoring against the Reds has always been his dream after a 3-0 win over Liverpool at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
The Dutchman was splendid on Sunday when he managed to put his side upfront just three minutes into the game before Odion Ighalo’s double for the Golden Boys.
Nathan Ake who is 20 years cannot hide how his feelings after scoring his first professional goal, speaking to the Watford Weekend Post-Match Review on Hornets PlayerHD, he said:”I’ve been dreaming about this, and also to score against Liverpool it’s really nice for me personally.
“I didn’t know how to celebrate, if you saw my celebration it was really bad, but I was really happy.”
The win puts Watford seventh position in the League table and Ake, however, hailed the side’s character against Liverpool. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is worried about his side’s performance and insist they did not play well.
“It feels really good and of course everyone is happy. I think we deserved it as well, we created chances, we defended well, especially in the first-half, so I’m really happy.
“It was really important to get an early lead, it gives you a boost and confidence. After that we kept pushing on and after the second goal we kept the pressure up and I think that helped,” he told Club’s Official Website.
Ake has found himself perfectly fit in Quique Sanchez Flores’ set up since he came from Chelsea on loan in August and has made 13 appearances in all competitions for Watford.
Watford will travel to the Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea and see off Tottenham at home to end 2015.
