Napoli vs Inter Milan: Prediction
The Parthenopeans finally ended their depressing eight-game winless run with a dramatic 2-1 road victory at Sassuolo. In an eventful, end-to-end game Napoli managed to turn the game around after the break and nick a win thanks to Pedro Obiang’s own goal in the stoppages.
With 6 wins, 6 draws and 5 losses, ‘Gli Azzurri’ are sitting at 8th position, five points off of sixth-placed Cagliari and eleven points behind Champions League spot.
Napoli have registered three wins, two draws and three defeats at San Paolo this season, averaging 1.25 goals netted per game, whilst conceding a goal per bout.
Malcuit is a long-term absentee; Koulibaly and Maksimovic should return next week.
After sharing the spoils with Roma (0-0) at Giuseppe Meazza and Fiorentina (1-1) at Artemio Franchi, the Nerazzurri changed gear and smashed Genoa 4-0 with goals from Lukaku (2), Gagliardini and youngster Esposito.
With the win-draw-loss record of 13-3-1, Inter and Juventus lead the Serie A with Antonio Conte’s side ahead on goal difference (+22). They will be hoping to record their eight win on the road this Monday and stay at the top.
Inter have the best away record in the league with seven wins and one draw, bagging 2.38 goals per game and allowing a goal per match.
Asamoah and D’Ambrosio are likely to miss the trip down south; Alexis Sanchez should make the bench.
We’re in for an interesting clash between two top teams. Inter are enjoying an excellent campaign, but Napoli are such a dangerous side, especially after morale-boosting win over Neroverdi.
I’m confident both sides will get on the scoresheet here. Eight of the last nine Napoli games had BTTS – Yes, whilst both teams have found the back of the net in 75 percent (6/8) of Nerazzurri’s away games.
With a 1-1, 2-2 hunch, I’ll try my luck with the Draw at FT with fantastic odds.
