Napoli vs Brescia: Prediction
Everything went according to plan against Lecce (4-1), but Napoli failed to make it count at home vs revived Cagliari (0-1). Gli Azuri were in command, especially in the second part of the game, often with 10 players in Cagliari’s half, but they could not break the deadlock. Dries Mertens had two shots against the post and Robin Olsen made two fantastic saves to keep guests in the game. In the end, the Sardinians took all three points with late Castro’s goal.
With three wins and two losses, Napoli are currently 4th in the standings. They will look for a redemption on Saturday when they take on Brescia at San Paolo stadium.
Koulibaly is suspended and Tonelli is injured for the hosts.
Brescia, sitting at 12th with two wins and three losses, impressed vs Udinese (1-0) on the road and fought well against Juventus (1-2) in the previous round. We’ve seen Mario Balotelli for the first time in Rondinelle shirt.
Super Mario had a solid debut, worked well with Donnarumma up-front, and it looks like he will be a big hit. Balo rejected big money offers to join the club he probably supported as a kid.
Brescia will take a long trip down south to face another top team and they will be without injured Martella, Ndoj, Magnani and Torregrossa.
Napoli are scoring 2.6 goals per game this season and I’m positive they will get on the scoresheet this time around. They are six points behind Inter already and cannot afford another slip-up at home.
Carlo Ancelotti will probably mix things up a little bit ahead of the Champions League clash vs Genk, but have no worries, he has five brilliant options in the attack.
Brescia played out three fat ‘unders’ on the road, but I’m confident we’ll have an exciting game on Sunday. The Rondinelle are netting 1.20 goals per game this season and conceding 1.60.
With Toneli, Balo and Donnarumma in the team, I believe guests can score at Stadio San Paolo, but I don’t see them repeating Cagliari’s success.
