Nantes vs Monaco
France Ligue 1
Date: Friday 25th October 2019
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Stade La Beaujoire.

Nantes have had a superb start to the season, but they were shocked last weekend when they lost 1-0 to Metz. It was a harsh reminder just how difficult away games can be and the club will be in better spirits one would presume being back at home.

Nantes are in 2nd place and have a 2-point advantage over Reims but are 5 points adrift of leaders PSG. The club have an excellent record at home where they remain unbeaten and have won their last 4 matches in a row. Their last game here ended in a 1-0 win over Nice and even if they have only scored 4 goals at home this season, they have not let any goals in, which is a remarkable feat.

Monaco beat Rennes 3-2 in an exciting match last weekend and that result was important because it was clear Monaco had improved in recent weeks but then were beaten quite easily at Montpellier 3-1, they come into this game having won 3 of their last 4 matches.

Monaco have climbed to 12th place and are just 3 points away from 6th, that is how close the league has become right now. However, the flip side to that is that they are just 2 points from a bottom three position. The problem for the club is not at home but away and this looks like being a tough game, Monaco have not won away all season and have gained just 2 points from 12.

Nantes vs Monaco: Head to Head

  • Last season this fixture ended 3-1 to Monaco.
  • Nantes have no wins against Monaco in the last 3 meetings.
  • There is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

Nantes vs Monaco: Prediction

Monaco have improved but look like a side who will still struggle on the road though they may be able to get points against lower half teams. We simply don’t see Nantes dropping points on Friday. They are very confident and strong at home and will want to bounce back after the disappointing Metz result.

Nantes are playing a side who simply leak too many goals. Monaco are shipping 2 on average per game on the road, whilst it is true Nantes are struggling for goals at home we still feel they will have too much quality and the sold out crowd can act as the 12th man for the home side against Monaco who on the road lack ideas.

Nantes vs Monaco: Bet Tips:
