Monchengladbach vs Paderborn: Prediction
Gladbach handed the top spot in Bundesliga table to RB Leipzig as Maximilian Arnold scored an outstanding volley and injury-time winner for Wolfsburg’s 2-1 victory.
Marco Rose’s side is playing well above all expectations, sitting at 2nd, two points away from rampaging RB Leipzig, having managed incredible ten wins, a draw and four losses, scoring 31 goals while conceding 18 (making them third best defense of Bundesliga).
So far, no team is better playing in front of their crowd than Die Borussen. One defeat, one draw and six wins, nineteen points collected. Rose’s team scored 21 goal (third best home record) while allowing 11 past Sommer.
Paderborn dropped to the bottom of the Bundesliga despite coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Union Berlin on Saturday afternoon. All is not lost though, as our underdog still have a fighting chance…
Dead last at the moment, with nine points from fifteen games and WDL record of 2-3-10 (18:33 GD), third worst defense in the league have a tough, though not impossible task in front of them. Fortuna is only three points away at relegation playoff place whilst Werder’s first team above the line with 2 points more.
Steffen Baumgart’s pupils do better on the road. Five points collected, with a respectable GD of 8:15, they’ve proven themselves a tough cookie to break. Dortmund failed to beat them, Leverkusen did so barely. Last two times away from home, they’ve brought back four points, with last one being 0-1 win at Bremen.
Julio Villalba and Keanan Bennetts are back in training for the hosts but not likely to feature. Andreas Poulsen, Torben Müsel and Florian Mayer are still out.
Marlon Ritter is evaluated on daily basis and could be at Baumgart’s disposal for Wednesday match.
Anything other than overwhelming victory by the favorites would be a shocker. Die Borussen are ridiculously good at home, fuming after stupid loss v Wolfsburg and our unlucky guests will pay the price. Lots of goals will be scored by the hosts and should they continue to play as they did throughout the season, The Prussians should win by a few goals margin. So, go with AH too.
