Monaco vs Stoke City
International Club Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 15th July 2017
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Stade d’Octodure.
Stoke City will continue their series of pre-season friendlies on Saturday when they are about to take on the French champions Monaco at Stade d’Octodure.
This will be the third test for each of the sides who started their preparation period at about the same time.
Leonardo Jardim is still without his star men as both Radamel Falcao and Kylian Mbappe are enjoying an extended vacation.
Players on the pitch showed quite decent attacking displays on the Austrian tour bagging five goals past St. Polten and Rapid Vienna.
However, the Portuguese manager can’t be thrilled with the defensive line which conceded two goals in Sunday’s draw with Rapid.
Rony Lopes showed quite a decent display as he was on target (together with Carillo), while former Anderlecht’s star Tielemans made his appearance as well.
Mark Hughes gathered almost the best he has (he still can’t count on the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Joselu and Xerdan Shaqiri), but it was not enough for the clear win over Young Boys at Uhren Cup.
Charlie Adam and Marc Muniesa bagged goals in a 2-2 draw before Peter Crouch converted the last penalty to secure the trophy for the Potters.
Monaco vs Stoke City: Head to head
This will be the first ever head to head encounter between the two teams.
Monaco vs Stoke City: Prediction
Monaco are set as favourites, but we would not underestimate the Potters who will field quite a strong lineup this Saturday at Stade d’Octodure.
The English side is 3/5 to avoid a defeat which is a bet we’ll take with both hands under the given circumstances.
