Monaco vs PSG
French Ligue 1
Date: Sunday, 28th August
Kick Off: 19:45 BST
Venue: Stade Louis II (Monaco)

With the money that both clubs now have this fixture has quickly turned into one of the most important on the French football calendar. But it is PSG who keep stepping out of Monaco’s shadow as they have won 4 straight Ligue 1 titles and Monaco are yet to win. Monaco has got off to a productive but laboured start in Ligue 1.

A 2-2 home result against Guingamp just wasn’t good enough but they did beat Nantes 1-0 away in a very physical and tough encounter. Monaco can be forgiven for not being too exciting lately as they had one eye on Champions League qualification which they did in beating Fenerbache. At home in this match we should see a little more potential of the club. Radamel Falcao is touch and go if he will participate in this match.

PSG under new coach Unai Emery have shrugged off not having the excellent Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the team anymore and are in essence simply continuing on from the past few seasons and winning games. They have scored 4 goals so far and are looking very strong once again.

Monaco v PSG: Head to Head

Monaco hasn’t beaten PSG at home for 7 years but they might be buoyed that in their last clash in Paris they won 2-0. However that was in March where PSG had in theory won the league and were concentrating on the Champions League. This game has an uncanny way of ending in a draw of 1-1 it’s happened in 3 of the last four fixtures here.

Monaco v PSG: Prediction

PSG will be the favourites to take this game on and win but Bastia proved that the club can’t quite be trusted to win away. True PSG did beat Bastia but their international stars could only win 1-0 and Monaco will present a much tougher game. Layvin Kurzawa has two goals for PSG already and it’s all the more remarkable given that he is a defender can he score for the third game in a row?

Monaco v PSG: Betting Tips

Draw at Half Time at 13/10
Layvin Kurzawa to score anytime at 9/1
