Monaco vs Nantes
France – Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 7th April 2018
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Stade Louis II (Monaco).
The champions Monaco looked like the shadow of the side that has been so consistant this season in midweek when they drew away to Rennes 1-1. The team looked tired and lacked creativity and coach Louis Jardem will be hoping to regroup his players for this Saturday afternoon kick off at home to Nantes.
Monaco has a healthy five point lead to 3rd place Marseille and should with 7 games to go finish in the automatic position for Champions League qualification which is a must for the club. Home form has been superb where the club has earned 41 from a possible 48 points and lost just 1 game all season.
Nantes’ poor form has seen the club drop out of European contention as they have won just 1 game from their past five but they are only two points adrift of a European finish. However it has been clear to any onlooker that Nantes have been poor this year. From the last 30 points they have won just 10 scoring just 11 goals.
Nantes have not won away since the end of January and that goes back for 4 games. They have drawn 3 in a row but tend to really dig deep against better opposition. For example they were beating Marseille at Stade Velodrome and only conceded in the last minute to draw that game.
Monaco vs Nantes: Head to Head
- Monaco has won the last 4 games when being at home
- Home or away in the last 10 matches Nantes has just 1 win which happened earlier this season
- The last time the teams played here Monaco won 4-0
Monaco vs Nantes: Prediction
Monaco has conceded in their last five games and even when they win they can look a little suspect at the back. Nantes do not have the quality to win this game but they will try and compete.
