Monaco vs Guingamp:
2016/17 French Ligue 1,
Date: Friday, 12 August 2016,
Kick-Off: 19:00 UK,
Venue: Stade Louis II (Monaco).
Monaco open their 2016/17 French Ligue 1 campaign with the home match against Guingamp on Friday night.
The Red and Whites achieved back-to-back third placed finished in the past two seasons. The French league must have been heavily dominated by the oil rich PSG in the past four seasons. But Monaco’s overall performance last season was far from impressive, earning 10 points less than what they did the previous season.
Guingamp narrowly escaped relegation last season, finishing 16th at a 5 point gap from the danger zone. The club who earned promotion to Ligue 1 together with Monaco in the 2013/14 season finished in the bottom half of the table in the last three seasons. Now with a new manager in Antoine Kombouare, they will be aiming for better fortunes.
Monaco: Team News
Leonardo Jardim has plenty of selection headaches as he is missing a number of players through injuries and suspension.

The Polish international defender Kamil Glik, who made his switch from Serie A side Torino is not fully match fit and will be assessed by the medical staff close to kick-off.
While the two new signings Benjamin Mendy and Djibril Sidibe could start on either full-back positions.

Monaco vs Guingamp: Prediction
Monaco are a dominant side at home whenever they meet Guingamp at home. Their unbeaten record of 14 home games with 11 wins is just an understatement.
Guingamp were lucky to avoid relegation last season. The 2014 Coupe de France winners will be hoping on a much improved season under their new head-coach Antoine Kombouare. But the odds to get a positive result against Monaco on the opening day remains slim.
Monaco’s lavish home result against Guingamp makes them clean favourites to win this one. I also go with the correct score prediction of 2-0 win for the home side at the odds of 7.0 for this game.
