Monaco vs Brest
France Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, 28th September 2019
Kick off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: Stade Louis II.

Finally, it happened, Monaco won a game this season and it came in a brilliant way in midweek in the derby game against Nice. Monaco were at home and won 3-1 which was impressive, and that result should hopefully kick start what has been a poor beginning for the club.

The win by Leonardo Jardim’s team was also significant as it followed a 0-0 draw at Reims and Monaco have gone 2 games unbeaten which they will take. They have only lost 1 game in their past five but keep drawing.

There is still a lot of work to be done at the club because they enter this game in a good frame of mind but also in 18th place. Still a win here could see them move at least 5 places up.

Brest are in 13th and two points clear of their hosts. They are unbeaten in their last 3 games however all of those have finished as draws.

Their last game finished 2-2 against Lyon and this was a fantastic result for the club. Not only did they claim a point against one of the best teams in the league but they were actually 2-0 down, so the fight back shows great mentality from the side.

The one question mark is that Brest seem to do much better at home than on their away travels.

Monaco vs Brest: Head to Head

The clubs have only met once previously in recent history and that was back in 2010 when the game was played at Stade Louis II and Brest won 1-0.

Monaco vs Brest: Prediction

Monaco have been the team to bet against this season and much of last season too. But they showed determination and grit with injuries to come away from Reims with a 0-0 result and then beat Nice who have been very good already this season. This tells us that the happy times have returned in the camp and players are focused on the job at hand.

It helps that Wissam Ben Yedder is back after a small injury and if Monaco were playing this game away, we wouldn’t be so confident, but they get the luck of the draw to be playing a 2nd consecutive home match and we really do not seem them slipping up here.

From all the games this weekend this one seems to be the favourite to back the home team for the win.

Monaco vs Brest: Bet Tips:

  • Monaco to beat Brest at 1.50 (1/2)
  • Anytime goalscorer: Wissan Ben Yedder (Monaco) at 2.50 (6/4).
