Moldova vs Congo
International Friendlies
Date: Thursday, 31 May 2018
Kick-Off at 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET
Venue: Kufstein-Arena, Kufstein.
The Austrian town of Kustein, Tyrol region, will play host to the unpopular international friendly between Moldova and Congo on Thursday afternoon. It will be the first test for the African since the African Nations Championship in January this year. The Red Devils were stopped in the quarterfinal of the competition after falling to Libya on penalties (1-1 in the regular time).
Moldova will, on the other side, play their fifth friendly of the year. The Europeans can’t quite be proud of the results, though, having only drawn one and lost three of past four ties. The managerial change did not bring many positives to Moldovans who have had a rather dismal campaign in the World Cup qualifications. They took only two points in ten games to finish the competition at the very foot of the Group D standings.
Alexandru Spiridon was appointed the new head coach in January, but there are no signs of improvements whatsoever for this Moldovan side.
The two teams did not have the chance to take on each other in the past.
Moldova have been struggling for goals badly over the last couple of years. They produced just four in ten matches of the aforementioned WC Qualifying campaign and they will come into this after bagging just one in last eight games in all competitions.
This is why we expect the hosts to try and keep things tight at the back in order to get the result and boost up the confidence ahead of September’s UEFA Nations League challenges. The Under 2.5 goals FT is certainly the best of the betting options for such affair and you can back it at the odds of 1.55. Alternatively, we will shoot for the draw, set at the 3.20 odds. Braver punters will fancy the goalless draw at 7.00.
Under 2.5 goals FT @ 1.55
Draw @ 3.20.
