Molde vs Partizan Belgrade
Europa League Qualification
Date: Thursday, 29 August 2019
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Aker Stadion (Molde).
Molde are set to host Partizan at the Aker Stadion on Thursday for the second lef of their Europa League Playoffs.
Belgrade game was rather uneventful for solid 40+ minutes, then Molde’s Mathis Bolly opened up the scoring after brilliant solo effort. That lead didn’t last long, as Seydouba Soumah levelled the score just before the half-time.
Savo Milosevic, Partizan coach, made several changes, gave a debut to experienced midfielder Barbas Nathko and instructed his team to look for the second goal. Hosts started to press and attack in numbers, and their efforts came to fruition when veteran winger Zoran Tosic bagged a winning goal in the 84th minute.
Molde vs Partizan: Head to Head
Last week’s game was a very first duel between these two clubs.
Molde vs Partizan: Prediction
Molde is super strong at home. When we combine their Eliteserien and Europa League records at Aker Stadium this season, we get incredible numbers – 9 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses, with 31:5 goal difference. They’ve beaten KR, Cukaricki and Aris on their way to Playoffs.
After dominant display vs Yeni Malatyaspor at home where they bagged three and missed several sitters, Partizan failed to impress in their 0-1 loss in the return leg and reminded us that they are still a work in progress.
If ‘Black and White’ go out on Thursday with similar game plan we’ve seen in Malatya – to defend at all costs, it won’t end well against freely scoring hosts. And it would be a shame, really, because Partizan, in my humble opinion, is a better team.
I don’t know what’s in Milosevic’s head right now, but I do see Molde scoring, and with players like Natkho, Soumah and Asano in the team, Partizan should match that.
