Millwall vs Wigan Athletic
English League Championship
Date: Tuesday, 23rd October 2018
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: The Den (London).
Millwall and Wigan Athletic have very different faiths this campaign. Millwall went from a team near the top 6 last season to a relegation candidate while Wigan enjoys good times following its promotion.
The Lions were outstanding last season especially at home. The Den was looking more like the Fortress. This season nothing seems to be the same. The team has barely won 2 home games and currently sits right in the relegation zone with 10 points after 13 rounds played.
Contrary to their form Millwall dealt another blow to Aston Villa’s ambitions last round. The Lions took advantage of the turbulence that surrounds the Villans and reached for all the points. Ferguson in the first half and Elliott just after the start of the second half turned things around following Abraham’s opener in the 7th minute for Villa.
Wigan Athletic are enjoying themselves this season. The teams sits closer to the playoffs then to the relegation zone which is a nice place to be for a recently promoted squad. Their 20 points give them 8th place just a point away from top 6. The main feature of this team though is their strong home form and poor away performances.
Wigan top the home games table and rightly so. Last round they managed to beat West Bromwich Albion and drop them to 3rd place. Wigan looked sharp and although let their visitors to control the tempo had a some good chances which eventually Windass managed to find the net to give them the victory.

Millwall vs Wigan: Predictions
Millwall picked the 3 points last time they played at home and it will give them some confidence. The team is not so bad as the results suggest but needs some more stability. Wigan are far from the best visitors and may struggle in the game although they may find the net despite not able to do it in recent away games. The Lions are slight favourites in a game with likely goals.
