Millwall vs Watford
England – Championship
Date: Tuesday, 26 January 2021
Kick-off at 19:00 UK/ 20:00 CET
Venue: The Den.
The Hornets are one of the best teams in the competition, and they have been in terrific form lately. They were relegated from the Premier League the last season, and that too on the very last match-day.
Surely they are now determined to get back to where they belong, and so far they have done justice to their objective.
Currently they are placed third in the table, and have conceded the second-fewest number of goals of all the teams on the Championship roster.
Meanwhile, the Lions are struggling to post points on the board consistently, and their only win in the past five match-days had come against the dismal Huddersfield.
On the other hand, note that Xisco Munoz’s men had won four of their former five PL fixtures, and the sole defeat during this stretch had come against the second-placed Swansea.
Going on, the Hornets also have a great h2h record against this rival over the years, and especially so at this venue.
Likely, expect Watford to deliver a winning performance this Tuesday.
Millwall vs Watford: Head-to-head (h2h)
- Munoz’s men had recorded 11 of the former 14 overall wins.
- They had scored two or more goals in four of the preceding five clashes.
- Since 2003, the hosts have posted a total of just one league victory.
- The visitors have scored two or more goals in six of the last nine meetings at this ground.
Millwall vs Watford Prediction
Gary Rowett’s men recorded a 0-1 win on the road the last match-day, against Huddersfield. In the meantime, the Hornets registered a 1-2 victory on the road the past game week, against Stoke.
Furthermore, Munoz’s men are on a three-game winning run, and they were also unbeaten in 17 of their former 22 fixtures. Moreover, the second-placed Swansea have the same number of points as them, and are pitted against the fourth-placed Brentford.
As such, at least one of the two will be dropping points, and this is a huge opportunity for the Hornets to strengthen their place in the podium.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in 15 of their past 18 overall match-ups, and they are on a nine-game winless run at home. They have also recorded a total of one home win in the league this whole season.
Taking into account these observations, expect Watford to post a win this Tuesday at the Den.
