Millwall vs Brentford
Date: Friday, 19 April 2019
Kick-Off 13:00 UK / 14:00 CET
Venue: The Den (London).
Millwall go into Friday’s home fixture against the Bees on a high following a streak of three successive matches without a defeat in Championship. Given two of these games were against promotional hopefuls West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United, we can say it is quite a respectable run worth praising.
The Lions, however, still have a mountain to climb to save the second tier status being just two points above the red zone line. They should have an easier fixture here in 43rd round, at least on paper, as non-motivated Brentford come to the capital to visit The Den.
The Bees hold 14th place in the league ladder and the lack of motivation caused some unexpected defeats in spite of a fairly easy schedule for them in the last couple of months. They fell 2-1 away at relegation-threatened Reading on Saturday and they won only one of last seven league matches.
Millwall vs Brentford: Head-to-head
Draw was the most frequent of outcomes in the history of head to head encounters between two sides.
It happened eight times as outfits are set to play each other for the landmark 20th time on Good Friday.
None of last three head to head matches saw goals scored at both ends.
Millwall vs Brentford Forest: Prediction
Brentford were generally easy to break down of late. They shipped two or more goals in three of last four league matches. The Bees were particularly struggling to bring results on travels so far in the season. They won just 2 of 21 away games in the entire campaign.
Millwall will thus have a nice chance to back up the huge draw with Sheffield United in the previous round away at Bramall Lane. They kept back-to-back clean sheets at The Den against the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers.
We expect a home win in a low-scoring contest in London.
