Milan vs Arsenal
UEFA Europa League
Date: Thursday, 8 March 2018
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK
Venue: Stadio San Siro (Milano).

The clash between the likes of Milan and Arsenal will definitely be the most appealing of all R16 ties. Vulnerable giants (how many experts like o call them) are set to take on each other for the place in the quarterfinal of the competition.

The hosts will enter the game in much higher spirits after winning six on the bounce in all competitions. Gennaro Gattuso has indeed managed to shift Milan’s fortunes around since taking over Vincenzo Montella on the bench and Rossoneri are now even within the reach of the top-four spots in the Serie A standings. The back-up rote towards securing the Champions League anthem next year at San Siro would be going all the way in Europa League.

Arsene Wenger does not have such an alternative way as he can only and exclusively save another dreadful season with the title in this competition. The draw has not helped the French expert much, but he simply needs to get the result no matter of the opponents’ form in order to even think of saving his job.

The Gunners have shown plenty of holes at the back lately conceding eight goals in three consecutive defeats (twice to Manchester C9ty and the most recent league loss to Brighton & Hove Albion). On the road, Arsenal have lost four on the trot in the Premier League and they’ll have super hard times arresting such slump since Milan have won five and drawn one of last six matches at San Siro.

Milan vs Arsenal: Head-to-head

These giants have met each other in the most elite competition on four occasions so far and Arsenal have been more successful winning two, drawing one and losing one in the process.

Interestingly, none of these matches has seen both teams on the scoreline.
