Midtjylland vs Sonderjyske
Denmark – Superliga
Date: Sunday, 18 March 2018
Kick-Off at 16:00 UK
Venue: MCH Arena (Herning).
Midtjylland will host Sonderjyske in the 26th round of Danish Superliga on Sunday afternoon. Home side wants to keep up with Brondby on the top spot, while the visitors are still hoping that they can somehow finish in the top six.
Midtjylland are sharing the top position with Brondby and these two sides are going to fight a fierce battle for the title. They have booked three victories in the last five occasions and although they had a hiccup in the latest round, Brondby failed to take advantage of that one. During the latest transfer window, some of the main players left the club, along with their top goalscorer Aleksander Sorloth who joined Crystal Palace, but they managed to keep the high level of their performances. They have been almost perfect when playing at home ground and they have allowed only one defeat and a draw. They need to keep up with good displays if they want to stay competitive in the trophy battle.
Sonderjyske are currently sitting on the 9th place and they are three points behind Horsens on the 6th place. Their chances of entering the Championship round are very slim and many other results need to match their needs so they can climb into the top six. Claus Noorgar’s guys have been pretty productive so far, while their defence was doing a decent job. The visitors were also pretty successful when playing away from home, where they’ve picked up four wins. Although it is realistic that they will continue the season in the relegation round, they want to put a good performance against the title holders.
In the last four occasions, both sides managed to celebrate two times. Midtjylland have been slightly better in the last five years. Their matches are in most cases very efficient and the goals have been scored on both sides.
The hosts are favourites in this one and every following match is very important for them. If they want to keep the pace with Brondby, they need to win this one.
Although Sonderjyske have been involved in low scoring matches recently, in this one we should be able to see at least three goals.
