Middlesbrough vs Sheffield United
English League Championship
Date: Tuesday, 7th August 2018
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Riverside Stadium (Middlesbrough).
We got two rescheduled games from the EFL Championship on Tuesday. At Riverside Stadium we can see two ambitious sides facing each other after disappointing opening round.
Middlesbrough finished in an entertaining draw in the opening round. The team had a difficult visit at The Den and all was looking lost for the team. Yet from 2-0 down Tony Pulis’ boys managed to get a draw in the end after Braithwaite and Friend scored in the 87th and 97th minutes to give their team a point.
Overall Boro had a difficult pre-season and tough start of the actual season. Still the ambition to return to the English top tier football is stronger than ever and the team should not be underestimated.
Sheffield United had a tough reality check in the opening round. The team was hoping to show their ambition against Swansea at home but disappointed. After a goalless first half the Blades took the lead just to suffer late turnaround and stay empty handed.
The defeat probably shattered some of the confidence after the perfect pre-season friendlies. Chris Wilder will try to relief some of the stress on his players so that they can play at ease.
