Mexico vs Venezuela
International – Friendlies
Date: Thursday, 6th June 2019
Kick-off at 21.00 UK/ 22.00 CET
Venue: Mercedez-Benz Stadium.
Mexico is high on confidence after they made mincemeat out of Paraguay, in their last game. Within ten minutes into the game, Mexico was leading by two, and by the 24th minute, Mexico was up 3-0. Though Paraguay made a late attempt to crawl their way back into the tie, Mexico had already done the damage.
Venezuela, meanwhile, lost to Catalonia in their last game. The final scoreline was 2-1 in favor of the team that’s trying to get emancipated from Spain.
Mexico might be awaiting a comparatively easier challenge to that of their visitors in continental competition. They are grouped alongside Canada, Cuba, and Martinique for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup edition.
Meantime, Venezuela are in the a tough group group with Brazil and Peru in the Copa America, the South American football fiesta to commence on 15 June this summer.
Mexico vs Venezuela Head-to-head (h2h)
- Six of the last seven wins went to Mexico.
- Only once has Venezuela kept a clean sheet.
- Six of the last ten matches had Mexico scoring two or more goals.
- If not for a loss in 2011, Mexico would have boasted a 100% unbeaten record.
Mexico vs Venezuela Prediction
Mexico won their last two games in a row and scored three or more goals in both of them. Their last game was against Paraguay, which saw them winning 4-2, while the tie before that was against two-time defending champions of the Copa America, where Mexico registered a 3-1 win. Trust me when I say this – they are more than prepared well to take on Venezuela, who was winless in 21 of their last 26 fixtures.
Importantly, only once has Mexico lost against this opponent, and that was back in 2011. Also, only once has Mexico failed to score against this team, and they registered six of the last seven wins. Finally, Mexico scored two or more goals in six of the last ten meetings against Venezuela.
As things stand, expect them to come out on top at the end of the day.
