Mexico vs USA
CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 Final
Kick-off: Monday, 8 July 2019 at 02:00 UK / 03:00 CET
Venue: Soldier Field (Chicago).
It’s been eight years since USA and Mexico last squared up against each other in a CONCACAF Gold Cup final, with the clash turning bitter for the hosts after the match went into penalties after extra time. The Mexicans won the battle of nerves and took home the coveted trophy along with the bragging rights that came with it.
Three editions of the Cup later, the home side have finally been handed the opportunity to take revenge.
The hosts brushed Jamaica aside in the semi-finals this time, by a 3-1 scoreline, while the Mexicans waited till extra time in their game against Haiti to ensure a clash with the home team.
Both the sides were certainly the front runners in the competition and so there was very little doubt as to whether they would make it to the finals this year.
The two teams have scored fifteen goals apiece in the competition so far, with the Mexicans conceding two less than their counterparts.
Will Mexico clinch what will be their eighth all-time Gold Cup trophy or will the hosts finally end their waiting game for the seventh title to their name?

Mexico vs USA Prediction
Mexico are likely to secure the win when the squads meet each for the sixth time in a CONCACAF Gold Cup final.
The Americans made it through to the finals by securing the win in regulation time, in each of the knockout rounds. They scored a total of four goals in the process while conceding just two and have not been shy in creating opportunities in the final third.
Despite Mexico cruising past all of their opponents in the group stage, the squad failed to net a decisive winner before the end of the ninety minutes in their last two knock-out games.
The sides that they went up against certainly preferred to defend deep rather than coordinate an attack, which will not be the case when they face the Americans.
Considering that the two squads have been excellent in both attack and defense, we can certainly rule out the odds of a high scoring final on Monday. Expect the win to swing in favor of the Mexicans at the end of the last whistle.
