One of the most interesting international friendly clashes is going to take place in Santa Clara where Mexico and Iceland are going to take on each other. Both sides managed to qualify for the World Cup and this one is going to be a good preparation for them.
Mexico had and easy job to find their place in Russia and they were one of the teams which booked their place a few rounds before the end of the cycle. After excellent displays in the latest Euro, Iceland managed to keep up the form and have another magnificent campaign. They’ve managed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in their history although they weren’t considered as the top candidates for the trip to Russia. They were putting very good performances when playing away from home and managed to score more than they’ve conceded. Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side are one of the most interesting teams in this edition of the World Cup and it will be interesting to see how far they can go this time.
