Defending Copa America champions Chile face Mexico in the final and fourth quarter final of the Centenario edition at the Levi’s Stadium, California on Saturday evening.
Mexico are on the red form at the moment and together with Argentina and Colombia, they are current favorites to reach this edition’s Copa America final. They kick-start their campaign with an excellent 3-1 win against Uruguay and went on to beat an extremely dangerous Jamaica. They were then held by Venezuela in the final match, but much owe to the conservative precautionary measures taken by head-coach Juan Carlos Osorio.
Chile are not at the best of their form and hardly looked comfortable in the wins against weaker sides like Bolivia and Panama. Looking back to the start of the tournament, they lost 4 of their 5 matches and Argentina handed them their third consecutive defeat in the group opener. Juan Antonio Pizzi tutored side seem to struggle against stronger and moderate teams at the moment, despite having immense quality in the squad.

Mexico vs Chile: Prediction
This is a match between two teams of contrasting forms, Mexico are at the top of their form, while Chile are struggling. The wins from the last two games may give Chile some confidence, but they will be very vary of the threat possessed by a hard working Mexican midfield. While, Chile’s defense has everything to worry about after conceding 5 goals in the three group games.
For me Juan Carlos Osorio’s Mexico are favourites to knockout Chile and advance to the semifinals. And I also expect to see some end to end attacking football in the second half. I back Mexico to win this inside 90 minutes and expect both teams to score.
Exact Score Prediction: Mexico 2-1 Chile.
