Both Mexico and Canada have kick-started their 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign in style, having put both of their respective opponents to shame in their opening match, by winning in a high scoring fashion.
The teams will certainly be settling for nothing less than win, the three points and the prospect of being table toppers, when the two teams clash on Thursday, at the Broncos Stadium at Mile High, for their second group stage match of the Gold Cup.
Mexico, one of the three hosts for the tournament this year, banged seven goals past their opponents, Cuba, in their most recent fixture.
The win and the goal difference have certainly sent a resounding message to the rest of the competitors and certainly speaks volumes of what they will have to expect from Mexico, who are on the hunt for their eighth CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Canada, on the other hand, were not able to go that far with their own opponents, Martinique, who finished the match having scored four goals and conceding none at the end of the ninety minutes.

Seven-time champions Mexico are certainly favourites to come out on top when they clash with Canada on Thursday for their second group stage match of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Mexico are currently boasting a very impressive run of form, having won all five of their previous matches in convincing fashion. Their last three matches alone have seen them amassing a total of 13 goals whilst conceding just three.
Canada, who have won the CONCACAF Cup just once before, are also on a five-match unbeaten streak. However, they will have to channel all the energy and will in their possession if they are to find a sixth win on Thursday.
Although Mexico’s recent fixtures where against a lot tougher opponents, in comparison with Canada’s recent competitors, we can surely expect Canada to give Mexico a tough ninety minutes.
