Marseille vs Toulouse
France – Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 8th February 2020
Kick off at 16:30 UK/ 17:30 CET
Venue: Stade Velodrome.

Anything other than a win would be seen as a terrible result for Marseille who will be the big favourites to make light work of Toulouse. Marseille are in 2nd place and Toulouse are bottom.

Marseille got a good and much needed win in midweek beating Saint Etienne 2-0. It was also important for them as Dimitri Payet scored and perhaps his form has returned at the right time.

The win moved Marseille 6 points clear of 3rd place Rennes but they are 12 points behind league leaders PSG. At home they have lost just one game and have amassed 24 points from a possible 33.

Toulouse lost for the 16th time in midweek against Strasbourg. This was disappointing for the club as they were at home and in their previous match they had managed a 0-0 draw with Amiens.

The latest defeat keeps the club bottom and the gap to 19th place which is Amiens is now 6 points. The club are also 11 points from safety, and they look like they will be relegated.

Marseille vs Toulouse: Head to Head

  • Last season this game finished 4-0 to Marseille.

  • Toulouse have not beaten Marseille in the league since 2012.

Marseille vs Toulouse: Prediction

Toulouse have the worst away record in the league with no wins so far and 8 losses from 12 games. We expect a very good win for Marseille and no shocks.

Of course, with the home side being the favourites it makes it difficult for us to want to back the home win. Marseille are around 1.30 so we will back them to win but do so with a handicap.

In recent times Dimitri Payet has had joy against them and with him scoring in the last game we will select him to also do so here.

Marseille vs Toulouse: Bet Tips
