Marseille vs Metz-Predictions-French Ligue 1-2nd Feb 2018

Marseille vs Metz
France – Ligue 1
Date: Friday, 2nd February 2017
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Stade Velodrome (Marseille).

On Friday night we have a very intriguing game involving Marseille and Metz. Marseille are having one of their best seasons in years where they are in 3rd position but have the same points as 2nd placed Lyon with 48. It’s been six weeks since they lost a game and they have collected 13 points from their last 15.

L’OM has the 3rd best home record in the league winning 24 of a possible 33 points, and conceding just 9 goals at Stade Velodrome. They are happy to play an attacking diamond at home and this has reaped benefits for the club who have underwhelmed in recent seasons.

Metz might be bottom of Ligue 1 but they are trying their hardest to survive. Losing 11 games from their first 12 matches they were condemned to Ligue 2 football next season. But since the turn of the year they have literally turned things around. Wins over the likes of Nice, St Etienne and Strasbourg has given the club huge hope to survive. However they are still 5 points adrift of 19th placed Toulouse.

Despite Metz’s fantastic revival they are still yet to convince on the road, especially playing quality teams. They lost to Monaco last time out 3-1 and coming to Marseille will be a very tough game for them to get anything. They will pack the midfield but also try to play deep.
