Manuel Pellegrini is counting on an aggressive start in Man City’s clash with Stoke City but admit it will be a tough one.
Yaya Toure and Kun Aquero picked up muscular and heel problems respectively at training and have join Vincent Kompany, Eliaquim Mangala, Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta on the sidelines.
“I don’t think Kun (Aquero) will be fit, we will see. He is recovering from his heel and he is in pain so it is not easy for him to work, maybe he will be back for Tuesday,’’ Pellegrin confirmed.
But none of these injuries have pushed manager Pellegrini and he said his side is keen on an assailing start against Stoke City upon performance they put up against the latter last season.
“We just watched the game from last season (a 4-1 win) and we played very well.
“It is important to be aggressive from the start against Stoke from the first minute. Especially in the first 15 to 20 minutes, they want to make the difference so it is important to be good from the start.
“It will be a tough against an important team,” he said.
Despite Man City facing injury woes Pellegrini confirmed that Joe Hart who missed the last two fixtures of the side after picking up an injury in the Champions League game against Juventus is back in the squad.
“Joe worked on Thursday and Friday without any problems so he is in the squad list – we will see on Saturday if he can play,”
Man City will play away to Stoke City and are searching for a must win in this game to help them keep title hopes alive.
