Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal annoyed at Jose Mourinho rumours

Manchester United head coach Louis Van Gaal is reportedly annoyed at media for speculating that Jose Mourinho is already appointed as club’s next coach.

The Dutchman who is known to have a bad repo with media has publically slammed the journalists for the way they handled the news in the last few days.

“And that is why I am annoyed with all the publicity. I have been ‘sacked’ three times and now it is about negotiations starting with Jose Mourinho. The next time, it will be another manager,” said Van Gaal in an interview with the Independent.

Louis Van Gaal’s contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the current season and there are indications on the fact that he might not be at the helm for next season.

Various media outlets in England has touted ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as the red hot favourite to take over at Old Trafford next season and bluntly speculated that the Portuguese boss has got the job at Old Trafford.

Moreover, these speculations have created an unrest in the United dressing room with lot of players suddenly become uncertain about their future at the club.

And in particular the speculation saying the Portuguese tactician wants to get rid of Juan Mata, whom he pushed to the exit door during his time at Chelsea.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager indicates that he already had a discussion with club’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward and there is no mention regarding the possibility of a managerial change in the summer.

“I can only say that I have spoken with Ed Woodward and I cannot imagine that they have spoken with each other. I think that if they speak with another manager, they would tell me because our relationship is like that. But I think that, if they want to change, they have to prepare themselves. That is also a professional attitude, in my opinion.”

“If they are thinking that they want to replace me, they have to prepare and they have to enquire, that is what I think. But if it is like that, they have to say it to me. And I believe they will tell me if it is like that. I not only have a strong relationship with Ed, but also with the Glazers. I have a good relationship with the Glazers also.”

Manchester United are currently fifth in the English Premier League with 41 points, 7 behind fourth placed Manchester City. They will take on Sunderland away from home on match-day 26 on Saturday afternoon.
