Manchester United move closer as Top teams lose grounds

Manchester United are now 10 points away from Leicester City, 7 points gap difference with Tottenham, 6 points between them and Arsenal and same point with Their City rivals as they all failed to win in the midweek English Premier League action.

Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City all failed to take advantage of Leicester City’s draw against West Brom as they all lost to their opponents in Matchday 28.

West Ham vs Tottenham

Spurs had the chance to climb top of the Premier League table with goal difference if they had gotten a win over West Ham but an early Antonio goal from Dimitri Payet’s corner condemned them to a 1-0 defeat.

The Hammers put in an excellent performance which keeps them one point below the two Manchester clubs as they are sixth place in the log. Spurs are still second in the table and are 3 points below leaders Leicester City.

Arsenal vs Swansea City

Some where else in London, Arsenal lost the opportunity to overtake their North London rivals into second place, due to a poor second half defending as they lost 2:1 to Swansea City.

Joel Campbell gave the gunners the lead in the first half from an Alexis Sanchez assist, but the Swans who played without their manager Francesco Gudolin as he was hospitalized for chest infection equalized immediately after half hour and scored the winner in the 75th minute.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Manchester City shift further away from the leaders as Liverpool grabbed a sweet revenge from their League Cup final. Manchester City now have 10 points between them Leicester City.

Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 win against Manchester City at Anfield bringing them up to 8 place with a match at hand.

Manchester United now joins their City rivals on 47 points after their 1-0 win at Old Trafford against Watford. It now gives the fans a hope of a top four finish if they can keep their winning formula ongoing.
