Manchester City vs Tottenham
International Champions Cup
Date: Saturday, 29th July 2017
Kick-off at 23:00 UK
Venue: Nissan Stadium (Nashville).
It is a clash between English clubs at the International Champions Cup when Manchester City and Tottenham lock horns at Nashville on Saturday evening.
Both teams played two matches in the tournament, won 1 and lost 1.
Manchester City started the tournament in a lackluster fashion in the 0-2 defeat against arch rivals Man United. However, it was a spectacular performance when the team took the field against reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid. The young Citizens demolished the Blancos 4-1, all goals falling in the last 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, Spurs started the tournament with an entertaining 4-2 win against PSG. But they fell to a 3-2 loss to Roma in their second match of the tournament. It was an absolute thriller which saw Spurs pulled level with two late goals, only for the young forward Marco Tumminello to hand Roma a 3-2 win in the dying seconds.
This is an interesting contest in prospect for the neutrals as Manchester City spend around $200 million in transfer fees this summer, while Tottenham are yet to spend a dime. On the other hand, this match marks Kyle Walker pitting against Spurs in a City shirt just few days after switching the clubs.
Manchester City vs Tottenham: Head-to-head
Spurs are unbeaten in the last four (Premier League) meetings against Manchester City with three wins and a draw. The goal ratio is 10 scored to 3 conceded.
Manchester City vs Tottenham: Predictions
Both teams found some fluidity in their last match and we are expected to see the same on Saturday. The safe option for punters is to bank on goal markets as we expect this match to produce at least four goals.
