Manchester City vs Tottenham
England – Premier League
Date: Saturday, 17 August 2019
Kick-off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: Etihad Stadium (Manchester).
The initial stages of the Premier League have scheduled some of the best match-ups of the season. While in the first day, it was Manchester United against Chelsea, this week, it’s the turn of Spurs against the current champions.
This fixture has the potential to turn into a grudge match. Last season, in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, the quadruple-seeking City was pitted against Mauricio Pochettino’s men and had a nail-biter of a tie.
The two-legged encounter, and especially the second leg saw momentum swinging in either direction throughout, and intense drama too. Finally, at the end of the affair, Tottenham booted out Vincent Kompany’s (former captain) men by the narrowest of margins.
Both have begun their respective campaigns in style. While for Pep Guardiola’s men, the third straight league title is in line, something only Manchester United has done in recent memory, their counterparts are looking for their maiden triumph in the Premier League era.
The previous match-day saw City delivering a majestic 5-0 win for their fans over West Ham, while Spurs managed a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa after an initial scare.

Manchester City vs Tottenham Prediction
City could easily be touted at the best team in the world right now. Under the guidance of Pep, they really are turning out to be maybe the best team in PL history. At present, they have won 13 of their last 14 matches, and 35 of their last 38.
They have also scored two or more goals in seven of their last eight fixtures, and at home, they are on a 17-game-winning run, scoring ten goals from their last two appearances alone, while keeping clean sheets in 12 of their prior 16.
Against this opponent, they recorded wins in six of the last seven meetings and registered nine of the last ten wins at this venue. They have also found the back of the net in the previous 11 straight h2h encounters and scored twice or more in nine of the last eleven clashes.
While Spurs is a capable squad in all accounts, against this cheat code of a team, and on the road, they should come up short.
