Manchester City to rival Real Madrid for Alexis Sanchez

Manchester City are preparing to raid Arsenal once again and this time they had set sights on one of their most prolific goal scorer, Alexis Sanchez.

According to the information passed on to us by one of our trusted sources, the Citizens are planning on some drastic changes at the end of this season with intensive efforts continued to put Pep Guardiola at the helm. With an objective to become a fearful team in Europe, they are working on the possibilty of bringing a group of players who have already worked under the Spaniard with the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez set as the primary target.

City want to sign the ex-Barcelona man at the end of the current season and are prepared to table an offer in the region of €50 million (£37.3m) to start negotiations with the London based club.

But Man City has to deal with stiff competition from Decima winner Real Madrid for the transfer of Alexis Sanchez. The Los Blancos see him as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, if he choose to leave at the end of the season and are already aware of the interests from the Manchester club.

Alexis Sanchez, who arrived in London from Barcelona last season, wasted no time in settling into the Arsenal setup and finished the season with 25 goals in 52 competitive appearances. This season has limited his appearances due to injuries, but is on due course to replicate the form from last season and has already scored 9 goals in 18 appearances.

This is not the first time that Manchester City are in for an Arsenal player, after having successfully signed the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna previously. The Gunners on the other hand will be reluctant to let of their star players leave, but in previous cases it has been proved that they have been powerless to stop them from leaving for a better salary.

Alexis is currently contracted until the end of 2018 season and earns £130,000 a week in salary; and Arsenal are trying to tie him down with a renewed deal which will make him the club’s highest earner surpassing Mesut Ozil, who is at £140,000 a week salary.
