Manchester United vs Manchester City
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 12th December 2020
Kick off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: Old Trafford (Manchester).

The Saturday early evening kick off in the Premier League promises to be a special one as it is the Manchester Derby and both clubs will be looking to get three points.

Domestically Manchester United have improved and have risen to sixth place after a slow start. The club have won their last four games in a row including last weekend’s comeback against West Ham where they went on to win 3-1.

However even though there has been encouraging signs in the league Manchester United were knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage as they lost to RB Leipzig 3-2 in Germany. They almost came back in that game as it was 3-0 at one point but it wasn’t to be.

Also the week has been overshadowed with the news that influential player Paul Pogba wants to leave the club, the timing has not been great, before a huge Champions League match and in between a local crunch derby.

United have a poor home record so far with just 1 win this season and that came against struggler’s West Bromwich Albion. They have lost 3 times already at home.

Like their rivals Manchester City have had a slow start by their standards but have looked better in recent weeks and come into this duel having won their last 2 games in a row.

City who are known for their goals have scored seven in their last two with the defeats of Burnley and Fulham. Pep Guardiola’s team could go above United with a win as they are only a point behind.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Head to Head

  • Manchester United have won the last 2 league meetings
  • From the last 5 league meetings at Old Trafford Manchester City have won 3 of them.
  • 4 from the last six meetings has seen both teams to score.

Manchester United vs Manchester City Prediction

Both clubs have found form but only one manager is still under pressure and that is United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

True United have pieced wins together but they have been lucky on some occasions, and traditionally are taking too long to get into games, where they don’t seem to gel until the 2nd half.

Playing like this you can get away with it against some clubs but City is another level altogether and we think that the 2019 champions will come into this game very prepared, this could end up being a miserable 90 minutes for the home side.
