Lyngby vs AaB Aalborg
Date: Sunday, 13 September 2020
Kick-Off at 13.00 UK
Venue: Lyngby Stadion.
Lyngby saw a rather disappointing end to the last season and finished six points behind the top 6, suffering three losses in the last four outings. They open the new campaign as they host AaB and hope for a fresh start, having picked it up through the pre-season and proving themselves as a very tough side to outgun.
Indeed, Christian Nielsen’s men beat HIK (4-3), Hvidovre (3-0), and Fremad Amager (5-1) before holding Copenhagen to an exciting 2-2 draw. They are still rated underdogs here (3.10) but we expect a strong challenge and Lyngby will surely be motivated to show what they are made of.
AaB have beaten Rangers (4-3) and OB (2-1) in two exciting friendlies behind them, though, proving great form in the final third. They have been conceding goals along the way but promise an exciting challenge as they look for a top 6 spot this term as well.
Lyngby v AaB Head-to-head
Lyngby beat AaB (2-0) in the sides’ last head-to-head clash at this ground back in July 2019, where Frederik Lund Gytkjær bagged a brace.
AaB earned four wins in the last five matchups, including a convincing 3-0 win in front of the home fans back in March.
We’ve seen three or more goals in three of the last four occasions.
Lyngby v AaB Prediction
We will now back AaB to build on the great recent performances, which were especially obvious in the goalscoring department.
We do expect an exciting contest at Lyngby Stadion but we feel the visitors will be able to outgun the rivals and start the Superliga campaign with all three points.
With their known struggles to really keep it together at the back, they could be forced into an exciting game with goals.
With that in mind, we’re hoping for a thriller in the making and we will also go for a high-scoring contest.
We will back Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 1.70 and could as well prove the best approach to the fixture on Sunday.
We have been used to such games between the sides in recent history and their displays through the pre-season point to just about the same conclusion, despite higher stakes on the table now.
