LVG : Manchester United fans should be happy

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal told the club fans to be happy for the side’s recent performance.

Man United were coming from eight straight games without a win in all competitions with three consecutive draws and four lost before a 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea.

The Red Devils, however, recorded a 2-1 win at home to struggling Swansea City before a slim 1-0 victory over Sheffield United in the FA Cup, thanks to Rooney’s late penalty.

And Van Gaal who saw Man United fans leaving the Old Trafford prematurely in Saturday’s game against Sheffield United says the club’s last two victories is enough for the fans to be happy.

“They are not thinking that we would score, I think, and maybe also because of the traffic that they leave the stadium a few minutes early.

“There are many reasons, you have to be happy as a Manchester United fan that we are in next round and we have won the last two games,” the Dutchman said at today’s Press conference.

Man United will travel to Tyneside to play Newcastle United in a bid to keep their top four hopes alive.

The Red Devils are hovering fifth position on the league table three points behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur and nine points adrift off leaders Arsenal.
