Liverpool vs Chelsea
England – Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 22 July 2020
Kick-off at 20:15 UK/ 21:15 CET
The Blues will be running high in confidence after sending Manchester United out of the FA Cup, and that too in style. However, they still have not made sure of a top-four spot, and after all the hard work they have done this season, a Europa ticket might not suffice to satisfy the fans.
They need one more win from the last two games in order to qualify for the prestigious tournament. But both of those are tough fixtures, and the Blues’ camp are a bit worried.
They are taking on the newly-crowned champions of the EPL, and that too at the Anfield. This has been a fortress for the Reds all season long, and with this being the final fixture at home for Jurgen Klopp’s men, they will be determined to close it out with a win.
By the looks of things, both teams will be going after the three points, and judging the enormous offensive firepower on either side, goals could be expected from both teams.

Liverpool vs Chelsea: Prediction
The Reds lost 2-1 on the road the last match-day, against Arsenal – which was only their third loss in the league this whole season. Meanwhile, the Blues registered a narrow 1-0 victory at home over Norwich the past game week.
As things stand, neither team have nothing much to lose. However, Lampard’s men have a CL spot to gain. Likely, expect attacking football from both teams throughout the fixture.
Moreover, the 2016-17 PL champions are firing in all cylinders after comprehensively beating Manchester United in the FA Cup, and earlier they had defeated Klopp’s men as well in the competition.
On top of that, the new title-winners have not kept clean sheets in four of their last five games, and the one game where they conceded no goal was against a relegation-battler. As such, expect Chelsea to score at least once this Wednesday.
Be that as it may, the fact that the match is taking place at Anfield will have a huge significance. They are on an unbeaten run at this stadium in their past 24 appearances, and of these an impressive 21 were wins.
In fact, they have not at all lost at home this campaign, and will not be doing that in their final appearance here this season.
