Limerick vs Bohemians
Irish Premier Division
Date: Friday, 1st June 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Markets Field, Limerick.
Limerick and Bohemians may well be the main contenders for the relegation play-offs at the end of the Premier Division season looking from this perspective after 20 rounds of the competition. Both teams look rather safe from the automatic elimination to the second tier with Bray Wanderers sitting at the rock-bottom of the league ladder with just eight points won so far in the season.
The Super Blues sit ninth ahead of the Matchday No 21, but a win here would move them level on points with Bohemians who are just three above in seventh. Both sides are struggling for consistency at the start of the season. They are well capable of making big results on their nights, though.
Limerick thus destroyed the in-form Waterford side 3-6 on the road just two weeks ago, but they failed to capitalize on such victory failing to find the back of the net in two following ties against Cork City (0-2 loss) and Sligo Rovers ( a goalless draw).
The Bohs have also been playing hot and cold ever since the start of the season. They clinched back-to-back away wins over Sligo Rover and Bray Wanderers in May before taking a single point from last two home ties with Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers.
The hosts will try and keep things tight at the back for as long as possible as they can’t afford a failure here. Given the match has a huge significance for both managers, we have reasons to expect a defensive-minded approach. The main betting pick will thus be Under 2.5 goals FT at the odds of 1.61, while punters who prefer higher odds will fancy the 3.20 offered for the draw.
