Lille vs Nantes
Coupe de France
Date: Tuesday 31st January, 2017
Kick-off: 17:00 UK
Venue: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Villeneuve d’Ascq.
The teams are all leveled after the opening 22 rounds of the competition in Ligue 1. Both Lille and Nantes sit in the middle of the standings with 26 points each. Lille are set as slight favourites in the last 32 round of Coupe de France match since they have been enjoying decent shape at the start of the new year.
The team led by Patrick Collot is still yet to suffer a loss in 2017. They opened the year with a convincing home win over Excelsior in Coupe de France with goals from Amadou, Roy Lopes, Soumaoro and Terrier. Les Douges produced a terrific display over the weekend when they managed to pick up three points from Gerland with a brace from Yassine Benzia (his first goal in Lille’s shirt).
Nantes suffered a defeat in the Coupe de la Ligue quarterfinal to Nancy earlier in the month. They managed to claim back-to-back league wins Toulouse and Caen afterwards, but the last two league matches have seen them picking up a single point against PSG and Rennes.
Lille vs Nantes: Head-to-Head Stats
The league match played between these two sides back in November last year has seen a goalless draw. Lille are somewhat more successful generally, winning 14 out of 32 games. It is, however, interesting to note that only one out of last eight H2H games between the two sides has seen both teams netting.
