Lille vs Monaco
French Ligue 1
Date: Sunday, 6th December 2020
Kick off at 12:00 UK/ 13:00 CET
Venue: Stade Pierre Mauroy (Lille).
This looks like being one of the best matches in Ligue 1 on paper when these two sides who have started so well clash on Sunday lunchtime.
Lille are in 2nd place with 23 points and drew their last game 1-1 against Saint Etienne which was not seen as a good result given Saint Etienne’s recent poor form.
The home side have actually had average recent form with just 1 win in their past five and their games being littered by draws and it has meant that other clubs have caught up with them. Lille now have four teams that could pass them if they don’t keep up their wins.
Monaco are in 4th place and only goal difference separates them from Lille. The club have fantastic form having won their last four matches in a row. Last weekend they beat Nimes 3-0 at home.
On the road Monaco have suffered though and have lost 60% of their games this way. The good news is that they put a 3 game losing streak to bed by winning their last away game which came against Nice in a 2-1 win.
Lille vs Monaco: Head to Head
The last time the clubs played here in 2019 Monaco won 1-0.
It’s been 8 games in the league since Lille beat Monaco and we would have to go back to 2016 when Lille won 4-1.
The last game the clubs played saw Monaco win 5-1 at Lille and Wissam Ben Yedder, the Monaco striker scored 2 goals.
Lille vs Monaco: Prediction
Lille have been strong this season although recent form is worrying and then we have Monaco who have been brilliant but not very good away. This tells us this match could end in a draw.
We believe that both teams will be cautious in the opening exchanges and one market to follow could be the draw but at half time.
Wissam Ben Yedder likes playing against Lille and we will back him to score yet again against them. Monaco are very confident but we have to remember that Lille remains a danger given that they have yet to lose a match at home.
Lille vs Monaco: Bet Tips:
Half Time Result: A draw at 2.25 (5/4)
Anytime goalscorer: Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco at 2.75 (7/4).
