Lille vs Dijon
2016/17 French Ligue 1,
Date: Saturday, 20 August 2016,
Kick-Off: 19:00 UK,
Venue: Stade Pierre-Mauroy (Lille).
Lille were involved in a five goal thriller against Metz away from home, but fell to a 3-2 loss in the end. Frederic Antonetti had plenty of problems in his first full season as head-coach of Lille. They were shown the exit door from the Europa League by a relatively unknown Azerbaijani side Gabala FC. He will be desperate to bounce back with a win here before the crisis looms like it happened in the last season.
The newly promoted Dijon lost their Ligue 1 opener by slim margin at home to Nantes. A 49th minute strike from Nicolaj Thomsen was enough to deny Dijon any points. Olivier Dall’Oglio is at the helm of the club since 2012 and his immediate mission will be to keep his team at a safe position away from the relegation zone.

Lille vs Dijon: Prediction
Lille’s game-plan in the opening Ligue 1 encounter with Metz fell into deep waters. They will be desperate to bounce back at home against a side like Dijon, whom they had dominated since 2011.
While the visiting Dijon are also looking for their first win of the season. They haven’t defeated Lille in three meetings so far and they might not necessarily back them to get a result here. As a result it is highly possible that they will be go out and play with little pressure.
Lille are good in building attack and creating chances to perpetrate opposite defence. And that is an advantage for them against Dijon. But the latter lack a bit of finishing ability despite creating chances and must work on that aspect to get a least a point.
